How much time will this whole portrait experience take from start to finish?
We understand that your time is valuable, which is why we aim to make the entire process as convenient as possible. Unlike traditional photography studios, which require multiple visits and hours of travel time, our service is designed to come to you. With us, you can expect the whole experience to take around 6 hours, which is half the time it would take to experience similar service in a photographic studio. This means you can avoid the hassle of coordinating multiple trips to a studio and instead focus on enjoying the experience with your family. With us you never even need to leave a home to have portrait done and delivered to you!
Do I need to have modelling experience?
Certainly not! We cater to clients from a diverse range of backgrounds and most of them have no prior experience with photo shoots. You don’t need to have any knowledge about modelling or photography to participate. Our job as professional photographers is to make you look stunning, so you can leave that to us and simply enjoy the experience.
I’m not as young. thin or handsome like people on your website; can I still book a portrait session?

Booking Sessions & Investments
What is a Portrait Session fee and what does it include?
Our portrait session fee is currently £650 and it covers the following: the photographer’s time and travel expenses within London (UK) on the day of the photo shoot, high-end level retouching for your images, a bespoke product design service, and one image preview and ordering session at your location. Please note that session fees do not include any photographic products, which must be purchased separately during your portrait reveal and ordering session.
Can I book a photo shoot even though I don’t live in London?
Certainly! We are happy to travel to you regardless of whether you live in another part of the UK or even abroad. However, please note that there will be an additional charge for shoots taking place outside of London, and a minimum spend requirement for your final order. For portrait sessions outside of the UK, we will provide a custom quote on a case-by-case basis, and the client will be responsible for obtaining any necessary permits and arranging for location and travel expenses.
So how much will this all cost me?
At JP Harrow Portraits, we understand that each client is unique and has their own goals and preferences when it comes to the final photographic products. Some clients may spend a few thousand pounds while others may spend over seven thousand. There is no minimum purchase requirement or obligation to buy anything at all.
Do you have a minimum spend?
We do not have a minimum spend requirement. We understand that each client has their own unique budget and preferences when it comes to their final photographic products. Whether you wish to invest £500 or £8000, it is entirely up to you. At JP Harrow Portraits, we pride ourselves on not using hard sell tactics but rather creating an enjoyable and relaxed experience that allows you to choose the best products that suit your needs.
Can I hire you to capture my holiday?
Certainly! We would be delighted to capture your vacation memories, whether it’s a trip to Disney World, an anniversary vacation, or any other special occasion. Our goal is to create a stunning bespoke album that will allow you to cherish those memories for a lifetime. What if I don’t like any of the images created?
At JP Harrow Portraits, we strive to deliver a top-notch experience and stunning images that our clients will love. However, we understand that everyone has their own preferences and tastes, and sometimes things just don’t go as planned. That’s why we offer a happiness guarantee: if for any reason you don’t like any of the images created during your session, we will refund your session fee in full. We want you to feel completely satisfied with your experience, and we stand behind our work. It’s important to note that this has never happened before, and we are confident that we can create images that you will absolutely fall in love with!
Can I schedule my portrait session for a weekend?
Yes, you can schedule your portrait session for a weekend. The session fees remain the same whether you choose to have your portrait session on weekdays or weekends. However, there is an additional fee for portrait sessions scheduled during bank holidays. It’s worth noting that our availability during weekends is limited, and there might be a longer waiting list if you prefer to have your shoot on a Saturday or Sunday.
How long will the actual photo shoot last?
The typical length of our photo shoots is between 2-4 hours, depending on the location and type of shoot.
Where do your photo shoots take place?
All of our portrait sessions take place on location. We can photograph you at your home, a local park, or any beautiful location or venue that you have access to. Each client can choose to have indoor, outdoor, or both types of photos taken during their session. One popular option, especially for families, is to start the session at their home and then walk to a nearby park to take the rest of the photos.
Do you only shoot on location?
Yes, we only shoot on location. We believe that taking photos at a location that is familiar to you will make your images more meaningful. Our creative team is experienced in transforming everyday locations and people’s homes into photography studios that can produce exceptional results.
Can my portrait session take place outdoors?
Yes, absolutely! We offer outdoor portrait sessions as well as indoor sessions at your home. Many of our clients choose to split their sessions between indoor and outdoor locations to add variety and excitement to their photos. Just let us know your preferences and we will work with you to create the perfect portrait session.
How long does the actual photo shoot last?
Individual and couples portrait sessions usually last 2-3 hours, while family sessions typically last between 2-4 hours. These are rough estimates and can vary based on the client’s needs. We are very flexible with our timing and don’t mind if a session takes a bit longer than expected.
What kind of images can we create during my photo shoot?
We are dedicated to creating the perfect portrait experience for you, so we encourage you to share any specific ideas or requests you have in mind. We offer a variety of styles including traditional, candid, and contemporary portraits. Some popular options include family portraits, individual portraits, and couple portraits, as well as headshots for professionals. We can also accommodate any other creative ideas you may have.
How about hair and make-up?
For male clients, we don’t typically provide make-up services as it’s usually not necessary. However, if you would like some light touch-up, we do have a traveling make-up kit that we can use. If you prefer a more professional look, we can arrange for a make-up and hair stylist to be present at your shoot for an additional fee.
Can I include a pet to my portrait session?
Absolutely! We love it when clients bring their furry friends to the photo shoot as it can add a fun and relaxed element to the images. We understand that pets are an important part of the family and we are always happy to include them in the shoot. Just let us know in advance so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
What should I wear in my portrait session?
If you choose to schedule a portrait session with us, we will offer you personalized advice and recommendations on what to wear on the day of the shoot. We will also provide you with a copy of our official Portrait Guide, which contains additional information on what types of clothing work best for a photo shoot.
Can I bring props or accessories to my photo shoot?
Absolutely! We encourage our clients to bring along any props or accessories that they think might add something special to their portraits. We want the images to reflect your unique personality and style, so feel free to bring along any items that you think will help achieve that.
After Your Photo Shoot
When will I get to see the new images?
Your photos will be ready for viewing within two weeks after your photo session. If you need them sooner, we can arrange for expedited processing for an additional fee. We want to make sure that your images are of the highest quality and take the time necessary to deliver them to you in the best possible form.
How many images will I see from my portrait session?
You will typically see around 20-70 fully edited images during your image preview and ordering session. The exact number may vary depending on the type of session you booked. Family sessions tend to have more images compared to individual portrait sessions. However, we always ensure that we only show you the best images that meet our high standards.
How soon can I receive the products I order?
We always strive to deliver your products as soon as possible, but as our products are all bespoke and handcrafted according to your specific needs and requirements, the delivery times are generally around 4-6 weeks from the date of full payment for your order.
Can I also get the digital files?
Absolutely! In addition to any physical products you purchase, we also provide digital copies of those images at no extra cost. The digital images we provide are formatted for social media sharing and do not include high resolution files, as we want to ensure that all prints meet our artistic standards.
Can I share my images on social media?
Absolutely, feel free to share your images on social media! We have already edited them to our professional standards so there’s no need to add filters or make any further adjustments. We do kindly request that you credit us by tagging our business when sharing the images and refrain from altering them in any way. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain the integrity of our work.
What if I don’t like my images?
We strive to create portraits that you will absolutely love, but if for any reason you are not satisfied with your images, we offer a complimentary re-shoot or a full refund of your session fee. We stand behind our craft and believe that you deserve nothing less than the best. You can trust us to work with you until we create images that you are completely happy with.
Who has the copyrights to the images from my photo shoot?
We retain the copyright to all of the images we create, but any images you purchase will come with a license for personal use. This means you can share the images with your friends and family on social media, but you cannot use them for commercial purposes without our permission.
Can I request specific editing or retouching on my images?
Absolutely! We want you to be thrilled with your images, so we are happy to take any specific editing or retouching requests you may have. We will work with you to ensure that your images reflect your desired style and are true to your vision.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes, we offer gift certificates which make for a perfect surprise for your friends, partner, or colleagues. You can purchase a gift certificate directly from our Contact page, or contact us for more information.
Can I order additional prints or products after my initial order?
Of course! We keep all of our clients’ images on file, so if you had a photo shoot with us in the past and would like to order additional products, just let us know. Please note that there may be a minimum purchase requirement for older shoots.
What happens in case of illness?
If you or anyone participating in your photo shoot becomes ill prior to the session, please inform us as soon as possible. We are happy to reschedule your session, as we understand that it is not ideal to proceed with a photo shoot while feeling unwell.
